Uh oh.

Today is the first day of summer. Coincidentally, we ran out of our first bottle of sunscreen for the summer today at exactly 11:03 a.m.

God bless our melanin challenged den.

I suggest that you all buy stock in Coppertone ASAP.

  1. I don't know if you've seen this latest report with recommendations, but a friend sent this to me and I thought I'd pass it along: http://www.ewg.org/2010sunscreen/

We're both kinda annoyed that it seems like every aspect of life is becoming fraught with anxiety over safety and healthy ingredients, etc, but at the same time, I'd rather use a recommended sunscreen than one that has been found to have issues. The Neutrogena kids one we've been using is in the AVOID category! Nice.

  2. very interesting...have been perusing the site. my burt's bees organic got a 4 & 5. Huh? Oh well. The information is much appreciated. Totally understand the frustration over all the panic. At some point, we must realize as parents - we can only do our best.. right?

  4. I know. I bought a Badger stick that was "only" $7.50; the California Baby equivalent was $13!! And your Burt's Bees at 4/5 is way better than my Neutrogena at 7!! :-)

PS: Love that Papa Bear has a whole line of products named after him!
